This collection conists of documents and correspondence related to the Dick Dowling monument in Houston, Texas.
Dick Dowling is most famous for his role in the Battle of Sabine Pass, fought on September 8, 1863. A statue of Dick Dowling was the first public civic art in Houston. The Dick Dowling and Sabine Pass in History and Memory online exhibit used material from this collection.
Professor Andrew Forest Muir taught at history at Rice University from 1958 until his death in 1969.
