KTRU Rice Radio Archive
This collection contains audio created by the student radio station. Types of content include news, interviews on a variety of topics, speeches, and lectures.
The radio station formed in 1967 as KHCR and later KOWL as a two-watt station broadcast by students from Hanszen College. By 1971, the students had renamed the station KTRU and it broadcasted on 91.7. The station continues to be run primarily by students with DJs from the Rice community and beyond. It can be found at 96.1 KTRU-LP and online.
