Neal Lane papers
This collection hosts materials collected and created by Dr. Neal Lane, Malcolm Gillis University Professor Emeritus of Physics and Astronomy and Senior Fellow in Science and Technology Policy at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy. It is focused on Dr. Lane's service as Director of the National Science Foundation (1993-1998) and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Science Advisor to the President (1998-2001) for President Bill Clinton. Dr. Lane also served as co-chair of the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) from 1998 to 2001.
In addition to his work in the federal government, Dr. Lane has also enjoyed a long career at Rice University, as professor, provost, and fellow at the Baker Institute.
