John H. Gibbons papers
This collection hosts materials collected and created by Dr. John ("Jack") H. Gibbons, who served as Science Advisor to the President and Director of the Office of Science and Technology (OSTP) for President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1998. Gibbons also served as co-chairman of the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) with John Young. Prior to becoming Science Advisor, Dr. Gibbons worked in the United States Congress as Director of the Office of Technology Assessment (OTA).
Dr. Gibbons retired in 1998 and was succeeded by Dr. Neal Lane, Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF).
