George H. W. Bush Science Policy collection

This collection hosts materials related to the science and technology policies, agencies, and professionals of the George H.W. Bush Administration (1989-1993). In 1989, President Bush selected Dr. D. Allan Bromley, a physicist from Yale University, as his Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and he was later confirmed as director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). The following year, Bush reestablished the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), with Bromley serving as chairman.
