This collection consists of photographs of Jerry C. Debes in World War II uniforms, as well as a photo of a B-24 Liberator bomber.
Jerry C. Debes was a Syrian American pilot. He flew in the B-24 Liberator bomber, which became the most produced American military aircraft in history. He and the crew of his plane disappeared on their 10th mission during the Normandy invasion and were declared dead. He was posthumously awarded the US Army’s Purple Heart and the USAF Air Medal for his service. A tombstone in his memory was placed in the Lorraine American Cemetery outside St. Avold (Moselle), France.
