This collection consists of a World War II banner, newsletters, and a scrapbook. Digitized as part of the Council on Library and Information Resources grant program, Hidden Selections of Houston’s African American and Jewish Heritage, 2020-2023.
The United Orthodox Synagogues (UOS) of Houston was founded in 1965 out of two separate synagogues coming together, Adath Emeth and Beth Israel. Dwindling memberships and financial hardships led to the merger and a final congregation, Adath Israel, joined UOS in 1966.
