This collection contains programs and other materials documenting commencement at Rice University. Examples of reflected materials include drawings, matriculation addresses, commencement programs, and graduate lists.
The Rice University Commencement files chronicle Rice’s graduation history beginning with the first graduating class of 1916. The programs and related materials detail historical trends such as the number and varieties of degrees awarded. In more recent decades, names of graduates and dissertation titles are given.
The original materials are held by the Woodson Research Center in Fondren Library. Search the finding aid/inventory for the Rice University Commencement files, UA 342.
