This collection contains photographs, documents, and a scrapbook recording Barentine’s work in oil exploration in Texas and Louisiana.
Andy A. Barentine was born in Gainesville, Texas in 1905 and married Texan Jessie Bell Cherry in 1936. He worked for Shell Oil and its predecessor company for about 35 years in multiple roles, living in ten different states until his retirement.
