Memoranda to British Ship Captains from the Admiralty
This collection consists of pages from a 38-page handwritten logbook containing dozens of general memos signed by proxy for various Royal Navy officers during the time period 1807-1809.
This logbook was written during the Napoleonic Wars, 1799-1815, when Britain was at war with France. Britain was engaged in both land and naval warfare throughout Europe.
