Broun family U.S. Civil War papers
This collection includes family tree notebooks and a diary recording family events. The materials provide genealogical and historical information on the Broun and Thurston family lines, as well as documentation of the Broun family’s experience of the American Civil War.
The Broun family lived in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Catherine Broun is the author of the diary. She provided her impressions of both Confederate and Union activities.
